What a credit is

A credit is one run of one tool on one image. The number of credits a tool costs is fixed and shown before you spend anything: 1 for Denoise and Sharpen, 2 for Upscale and Background Remove, 2 for Scratch Repair, 1 for Colorize, 2 for Face Restore, and 3 for Restore.

The differences are not arbitrary. Denoising and sharpening make one pass over the image and finish quickly. Restoration runs a heavier model that reconstructs damaged areas and has to be careful around faces, which takes longer and costs more to run. The price you pay tracks what the work actually costs to perform.

Credits are only spent on a result. A job that fails returns them, and you are not charged for a run that never produced an image.

Working out how many you need

The useful question is not how many credits 120 is, but how many photographs you have. At the current costs, a month of Starter is 40 full restorations, or 120 denoise passes, or 60 background removals, or any mix of those.

Most people do not use one tool exclusively. A box of scanned family prints is usually restoration work with a denoise pass on the grainiest few. A batch of product photographs is usually background removal with the occasional sharpen. Count the photographs you actually intend to process, multiply by the tool you will mostly use, and you will have a closer estimate than any calculator.

If the answer is a handful of images, you do not need a plan at all. The free result and the signup credits will cover it.

What the free result includes

The first result is free, at full resolution, with no watermark and no account. It is the same output a paying customer gets, not a preview.

That is deliberate. Restoration and cutouts can only be judged at full size — a reduced or watermarked preview hides exactly the edges and faces you need to inspect. A sample you cannot examine tells you nothing about whether the tool is any good.

The free result is once per visitor rather than once per day. After that, creating an account adds 5 credits, which is enough to try several tools on the same photograph and see which one fits before any money changes hands.

When credits run out

Starter is 120 credits a month for $12. The credits refill each billing period. They do not accumulate: an unused month does not make the next one larger, so there is no advantage in stockpiling and no penalty for a quiet month beyond paying for a month you did not use.

If you run out mid-month, nothing you have already produced is affected. Results already downloaded are yours, and results kept in the workspace stay there.

For an archive you intend to work through once, a single month is often the whole job. Cancel afterwards and come back when the next box of photographs turns up.

Billing, cancelling, and what happens to your work

Billing runs through Stripe. Card details are handled by Stripe and never touch this site, and the same portal handles receipts, card changes, and cancellation.

Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, so the remaining credits stay usable until then. There is no cancellation fee and no notice period.

Uploads are processed to produce your result and are not used for training. If you want a file kept alongside your other work, an account keeps it in the workspace history; otherwise download it and nothing is retained.

Which tool to spend on

Spending well starts with matching the tool to the damage, because the wrong tool costs credits and returns something you will not use. Restore is the broad one for a print that has aged in several ways at once, and at 3 credits it is also the most expensive — worth it when fading, creases, and colour drift arrive together, and wasteful when only the surface is marked.

Scratch Repair is the narrow alternative at 2. Denoise at 1 handles grain from low light and blocks from compression. Sharpen, also 1, recovers clarity that is nearly there rather than rescuing a badly missed focus.

AI Background Remover costs 2 and is the one to test on a difficult photograph rather than an easy one, since hair and glass are where cutouts fall apart.

Each tool page describes what it is for and, more usefully, when something else fits better. Reading the one you are about to spend on is the cheapest way to avoid spending twice.
